And even if I had a shotgun, I'm not nearby

Dear Kaitlen,

Sweet 16 is treating you quite well. TOO well. You're all grown up - and out - and, well, I'm your Dad, so it makes me a trifle nervous.

Lead a smart life, dear, and try not to do anything stupid. Carry condoms regardless of what idiot things anyone may tell you about abstinence. At some point, you're gonna need them.

I love you,
Dad

P.S. Glenn, (my son on the left edit: duh...as if you needed that clarification, JU) - you have my permission to kill...for whatever reason you deem necessary. Thanks bud.

Nice dress....

On the one hand I'd want my daughter to be beautiful, on the other hand....

I'm keeping this pic away from my 19 year old son. Get the shotgun out daddy.

However, if she wants an e-mail buddy send me her address and I'll give my boy a surprise---don't worry --he's on the other half of the World.

You're right, she is hot. I would make a lousy dad for a girl, poor girl would never have a life

I have a sneaking suspicion that she's swamped.

This exact issue is what concerns me with my daughter.  I hope she's blessed, but on the other hand, if I didn't have to worry too much about her bringing home potential suitors...

, this must have been what my dad meant when he kept telling me to cover up when I was that age! I know I will feel your pain in the future, we have two girls 9 months apart, they're 5 and 4 now and already gorgeous! Daddy's saving up for a shotgun already...

I'm sure big brother will be looking out!! You have gorgeous children!

Only saving? Slow poke.

My daughter's 6 and already showing sings of blossoming into a beautiful woman (she can't help it ... she looks like her mother and her mother's gorgeous). Either I'm gonna be in trouble or she is. I'm not sure which, though. Any potential suitors have to go through her very overprotective older brothers. And THEN my and my shotgun get their turn.

Why is he so pink? You've sired some sort of lobster-boy hybrid, I think. And you're right, the girl would certainly make anything male look twice - and quite possibly a third time.

Sabrina insists my comment about the boy was terribly inappropriate. Attribute it to an over-abundance of schadenfreude and my evil humor at work. Not something Americans find terribly appealing, I know.

I might have said he was ugly, as I did when confronted by a gallery of photographs at my friend Pinky's house. Turned out they were his nieces and nephews. He put it down to my being English and was far more amused than offended. "Damn" I said as I looked at this gallery of infants and small children, who had all been beaten unmercifully with the Ugly Stick "those are some ugly children."

To make matters worse, I'm not simply English (an ugly kid is an ugly kid and those who breed them ought to be reminded of their genetic inadequacy at every opportunity - they deserve to be reminded), I'm my mother's son. And on my mother's side, we're particularly blunt.

Schadenfreude...lol. Well played.

It's cool. Besides his looks, he's an ROTC geek on top of it, but I love him just the same. The kid has a lot of class, and that transcends his mom's biological influence.

The girl...she's gonna be trouble.

She is beautiful, Ock. And I think your son will become a nice looking young man too. It looks to me like he is in that teenage-almost a man stage that is typically pretty awkward.

You want your children to be beautiful, and honestly, being beautiful provides opportunities, but there are a lot of scary downsides to it too.

Thanks for sharing the pic. You must be very proud of both your children.

Ock,

As the father of four beautiful girls who is, fortunately, still a couple years away from having such worries (only a couple, though. My oldest is quickly getting there, although I have to be careful not to let her know it...lol!), I found a website that might be helpful:

WWW Link

Hope this helps...LOL!

Seriously, though, ya did good. Them's good looking chillens!

Haha, Gid. No, I don't want her to be a nun - I just don't want her to get faced with being a Mom before it's time - an all too common occurrence in a repressed environment (aka the Bible belt south)

On behalf of the chillens, all, thanks for the compliments. My part in it was pretty easy, as I recall
