Soon to be in my evil little hands

When I got to Naples 2 years and a few months ago, one of the first persons I met was a guy I'll just call MH. I'm just calling him that, because what I'm about to describe is illegal, and I don't want to dime him out for his service.

MH deserves a blog entry all his own. He's a thinker - very astute. He's absolutely hilarious...a wit faster than greased lightning and sharper than a razor. But perhaps I'll save that for another time. MH and I became friends immediately, and he told me about The Collective.

The Collective is a compilation of music. The way you buy in is simple. You let him rip the tracks off of all the CDs you own, and then if you provide a harddrive, he puts the entire compilation of all the people that have contributed on it for you. It's up to 560 gigs! 560 gigs of MP3s. Granted, some of the stuff is absolute shit, but if you're looking for a certain song (as musicians are often wont to do) then the Collective is an extremely useful tool.

Two days ago I dropped off a Terrabyte external harddrive that I bought at the Navy Exchange for 347 bangos. (Yeah yeah...it's actually 2 500s in a raid(0) array, but whatever.) Today I pick up The Collective.

So it's illegal as hell, but you know, it ought to be illegal for some purported musicians to sell turds, too, so I'm not going to worry too much. After all, according to many on this particular site, my place in hell is already established. I'm going to have a nice house there with several pools of lava to do headstands in. God loves me, after all. I digress...whatever

Yeah we checked it out the other day...it would play for 324 days 24/7 from start to finish. Crazy.
