Too bad, so sad

A few days ago, I noticed that the forums weren't working as intended.  The way I "surf" JU is I look on the right to see what the popular articles are, and then I pick one and click it.  If none of those articles seem interesting, I look at the "Recent articles" list and pick one of those.  Once I've read that and responded or delcined to, I look again on the right for something new to view.  The problem was that once I had navigated away from my own blog, if I clicked something, I got this "waiting for scripts.stardock.com" message in my taskbar, and it just sat there.

So, I headed over to the "Forum Issues" forum to see if it was just me.  It wasn't.  There was a post there about "Forum Slowdowns" and so I added my two cents which included where it slowed down (for me) in an effort to HELP resolve the problem.  I didn't whine or bitch about the slowdown, I just stated the objective facts.

Well...andrew_ (not a typo, that is his screen name including the underscore) deleted my post as a "me too" response despite the fact that my response included specific information regarding WHAT was happening, WHEN it was happening, and messages in my browser WHILE it happened.  Is that information not useful when trying to solve a problem?  It certainly points you at what code is causing the issue if nothing else.

So this morning, I notice it's fixed, and I go back to that same forum to see if some sort of answer has been posted as to what exactly had happened.  What I found was that my post had been deleted by the forum mod.  Even though it included specific info as to where the problem was happening for me - something that was not included in ANY of the other posts there.  Strange.

So, I posted again.  And I was a little irate.  Know why?  Because I did NOT need to take MY TIME to address a Stardock forum issue.  I did so to help the community, and if it wasn't useful, well...it was free.  It was free information, that wasn't repeated information, provided by a paying customer.  (Yes, paying customer - I own 3 different Stardock applications.)

I guess andrew_ deleted that one too based on the private message I just received admonishing me for not following forum guidelines.

You know...life is too short.  No problem, andrew_.  Not only will I not bog down your precious forums with idiocy like facts, I won't darken Stardock's door at all any more.  No more Stardock purchases for me.  Thanks to you, buddy.  Try to delete THIS, bitch.

Oh, and by the way....if any of you admins feel really sensitive about this, don't confess it.  Don't admit that you're wrong.  Just lock the post.  I guess that since you already have possession of my money, it's no longer required to be respectful...I mean really.  What would THAT get you?

I find it incredibly amusing that Brad seems to believe that government should not be in the business of enforcing people to do "what is right" yet his own admins do exactly that whenever it pleases them.  Good times.  Also funny that the post was locked from taking comments but I can continue to enter stuff into the article as I see fit.  Hey guess what the Nazis will do next?  If you guessed 'stop me from editing the body of this post' you are correct!

Am I being over-sensitive?

As a customer, I think I'll just keep bumping this until it gets addressed.

Seems to me you went out of your way to provide useful information regarding the problem. I was seeing the exact same issue here, including the scripts being the source of the problem. I think someone owes you an apology.

Haha! You the coolest Ockman!

Well, yes and no.

From my perspective, refusing to make future Stardock purchases over this issue might be a little bit extreme. If you have enjoyed your past purchases and you anticipate enjoying future purchases, then I'd just chalk it up to "shit happens".

That said, I fully agree with not offering up any future assistance in the forums. I don't go where I'm not appreciated.

Is andrew_ a paid Stardock employee? Is he 21, or 42? Was he having a bad day? I have no idea. I do know that his is not always an easy role - there are a lot of newbies and griefers out there.

Just my 2 cents worth. Have a good day!

How's that feel, andrew?

Oh, if you're showing up late in the game, the person I mentioned in the article showed up and posted something.  It wasn't important to me, so I decided that it wasn't important to any of you and deleted it.  That's how we roll around here.

It wasn't important to you, but he made a point to the thread which you deleted.  If you are going to pick responses to delete then I am going to close this thread as it's just inviting a flame-fest with no context.
