O joy O joy!!!
Yes, this will seem like a troll, but I don't care because I am full! Full to the brim with the joy of being!
Being a windows user, that is.
I'm a dual computer guy, actually. Upstairs, my PC, and the Mac is downstairs with all my recording equipment plugged into it. It had recently been in the shop...I just got it back. 2 weeks to replace bad RAM, something anyone that can tie their shoes can do in 5 minutes while drunk. Why?
"Because," the peppy Apple lady said cheerfully, "we must make sure that there isn't anything that caused the RAM to go bad, you see?"
Anyway...
I ran into an installation error on the ole dual proc G4 today. And I had to re-attempt the installation, but apparently, installations on Macs often install lots of "invisible" files. You know, they keep them invisible so that you won't see them and...maybe "think" or something. Thinking is bad.
Unfortunately, you can't get rid of them, and the installation (which needs to think, but doesn't) "thinks" that itself is already installed due to the presence of some of these invisible files.
Ok, hahaha...I'm doing an Apple a huge disservice here. You CAN get rid of them. You just have to buy some extra software to do it, so shame on me for even suggesting such a horrible thing. I'm figuring it's my hard drive, it's my OS, it's my over priced computer that even with a dual G4 doesn't really seem much faster than a PIII...I should have ohhhhh...a 50% say in what files are on that hard drive. I mean without doing anything extra. I should get to delete or copy or make 1000 replicas if I'm feeling crazy of any file I own. Uh, no.
That's it, I'm done with this one. You folks are capable of filling in the rest.
