I was just reading a forum post by imajinit regarding a little problem he is facing with a recovering roomate . Normally I don't like to flash my credentials in a blog. It just seems a heavy handed way to establish onesself as an authority, but since imajinit's particular post is about a subject near and dear to my heart, I'm going to. Now if you've read the post he made, you might be guessing I'm a social worker, or that I work with recovery patients. Well, the latter is partially...

There isn't much I get upset by or spooled up about anymore no matter what the topic - terrorism, presidential elections, or the importance of the use of real cheese and not just cheese food products in school lunches. I have sort of hit a point of acknowledgement. Acknowledgement and acceptance that largely it is something I can not change. In a presidential election, I have my one vote, but I don't seriously believe that it's all that important because the voting system does not represe...

In 1984 I returned to college to try it again. Having badly botched Computer Science in 1982, I immediately turned to doing what was easy for me. Playing rock in a nightclub with a band called "Good Intentions." Those two years were two of the very best...memory-wise. Progress-wise I got nothing done in the personal growth department. I guess that goes along with being at a two-year long party. Anyhow, it was a great time where I really tuned up my ears. I could write down an arrang...

I'm sick of it. Sick sick sick. You know, back in the day when I really had a burning desire to learn all about the basket weaving techniques of the southern aboriginal tribes of western australia, I could pop it into a web engine as a search and BOOM...there it was. In triplicate. Everything I could ever possibly want to know. And now I get trash...and people selling me Viagra (which I don't need....yet...dammit) Anyhow...I just felt like giving a shout out to ranting. It's that...

A Ms Trinitie, who I must assume is from this very same blog site, posed me the question thus (paraphrased) "Why don't you blog more?" And Trinitie, I have given this some thought. I have seen that some use blogging as a sort of way to get "famous" in a given pool of fish. This is not the reason I do it. I do it because I tend to think of obscure ideas a lot, and since I know my fellow humans are usually all succeeding quite nicely at thinking of the same things (and I cite reality tv s...

I have 5 cats. Don't even start with me, because I couldn't defend myself if you came at me intent on knowing "for god's sake why?" I just do. As a result, cat box technology is often at the front of my mind. Have you seen these electric auto-scooping cat boxes? Fantastic little devices...almost. You can get exactly 1/4th inch of litter in the bottom before it will clog the mechanism when it goes into its scoop routine. What good is that? Have you ever seen a cat in action in a cat...

I had a brush with greatness today and I just wanted to share it. It's that season folks...Christmas shopping season. How I loathe it. Consider that I am a San Diegan displaced for a number of years to Rhode Island, and that my shopping just HAD to be concurrent with the first snow of the year, and you can see the picture of an unhappy camper. But, life is funny...I had an experience, and I wanted to share. When we arrived at Walmart to buy presents for our _high_ class friends (pause f...

We're all fairly familiar with the ole "i" before "e" rule, I beleive. Well, today I decided to repeal the rule just because I want people typing today to be without stress. So from now on folks, the rule is: "i" before or after "e" it doesn't matter because we'll know what you mean, so don't sweat it . No need to thank me, have a great day Ockham's Razor Keeping it simple since 1962

I am the net. Every day I watch the Political Ping Pong balls from the only place on the table that is truly neutral, and I watch it go left, then right, then left, then right. You might know the image, because I'm not alone. No matter what side you are on, who you are pulling for, some part of everyone's attention is always here. On the center. On the net. I am the defining place. I define where a point is lost and where a point is made. I am at once the cause and the effect of the ...

O joy O joy!!! Yes, this will seem like a troll, but I don't care because I am full! Full to the brim with the joy of being! Being a windows user, that is. I'm a dual computer guy, actually. Upstairs, my PC, and the Mac is downstairs with all my recording equipment plugged into it. It had recently been in the shop...I just got it back. 2 weeks to replace bad RAM, something anyone that can tie their shoes can do in 5 minutes while drunk. Why? "Because," the peppy Apple lady said c...

This blog would have come sooner, but I was busy. I was busy with my new case of WinPsoriasis. I've been clawing and scratching layers of skin off of my windows GUI only to replace it with other layers, and....I can't seem to stop. Right now I am sporting "Colony" created by Mike Bryant; a lovely skin with an old west flair, but a techno edge. It reminds me very much of Stephen King's series "The Dark Tower" in flavor. Like Clint Eastwood meets the Terminator. But I digress... Yeste...

The following excerpt from my book entitled "The Book That No One Has Seen Because it Hasn't Been Published (Oh Hell Who Am I Kidding, It Isn't Even Written)" was first digitized from my brain to Drive C:/> about one week before I discovered Blogs full force. It is a work in progress, and is denoted as such, parenthetically - Opus 2, Ramblus 1. It has not been editted at all...this is the raw form, so good luck with it, if it makes no sense, or you strongly disagree, I hope you'll at least smi...

Blog. I first began hearing about this in relation to people that were tracking developers plans in the video game industry. And honestly, I don't even remember how I got here, but as I look around I am learning what the word means by interacting with it as opposed to my usual method which involves web browsers, search engines, and time I don't have. It seems to me to be a kind of online diary, and now it's becoming mainstream. Years ago, we used to laugh about writing things on paper, enc...
